BIOGRAPHY
Paul Feinberg is a California-based painter known for his immersive landscapes of the American Southwest and Pacific coast. Working primarily in acrylic, he captures the shifting moods of place through nuanced light, structure, and color.
Paul’s artistic path began early — he declared at age six that he would become a painter. He earned his BFA in painting and sculpture from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, including two years of study in Rome, where he later lived for five more years working in experimental puppet theater.
After completing an MFA in theatrical set design, Paul spent a decade as a props master in regional theater before pivoting to the business world. He earned an MBA in accounting and spent more than 20 years in accounting, tax strategy, and systems analysis.
In 2006, Paul returned to painting, building a plein air practice grounded in direct observation and deep engagement with natural landscapes. He travels regularly across the Southwest and coastal regions to paint on site. In 2023, he retired from business to focus fully on his art practice.
